Hello Again… It’s Been a While, Hasn’t It?

Angus Beans, the smallest and sassiest member of the household, exploring the garden like he owns it

You know that feeling when you bump into an old friend and somehow years have passed—but it still feels like yesterday? That’s me, dusting off this little corner of the internet, brushing cat fur off my keyboard, and wondering where on earth the time went.

If you’re new here (or if you’ve forgotten about me entirely—rude but understandable), I’m Mandy. I’m still very much living my independent woman, slightly feral cat lady, romcom protagonist in the wrong movie life. Yes, still single forever—thank you for asking. And honestly? Not mad about it.

🐾 The Current Cat Chaos Roll Call

  • Charlie – Legendary cat, absolute icon, still running the household like he pays rent.

  • Angus Beans – The smallest, sassiest kitten with a name far too grand for his tiny legs.

  • Iris – The wise elder of the group, quietly judging everyone from her favourite spot.

  • Maggie – Found abandoned in a recycling centre and now living her absolute best life (because obviously, she owns the place).

  • Jasper – Technically my daughter Abigail’s cat, but you know how it goes—visitation rights and all that.

Somehow, between the cat wrangling and my long-standing phobia of bananas (yes, that’s still a thing—don’t ask), life took an unexpected turn thanks to TikTok. What started as me rambling into my phone has turned into a full-on career. I’m now a content creator across TikTok, Amazon, YouTube, and apparently back here again. Who knew over-sharing on the internet could be so profitable?

📱 Where You Can Find Me These Days

  • 💫 Follow me on TikTok (@mandyyourtiktokmum) – for chaotic storytelling, product reviews, life updates, and occasional existential dread (with a side of cat content).

  • 🛍️ Shop My Amazon Storefront – if you’re wondering “Where did she get that ridiculous but oddly life-improving gadget?” it’s probably here. Curated, tried, tested, and Mandy-approved.

  • 📌 Hang out on Pinterest – perfect for late-night scrolling and finding all the pretty things I don’t actually need but desperately want.

  • 🎥 Join me on YouTube – yes, we’re doing that now too! Expect honest reviews, a bit of chaos, and the occasional unplanned existential crisis.

This year, I’m all about embracing joy again—more travel, more cats, more unhinged product reviews, and maybe even a little theatre obsession thrown in for good measure. And if you’ve stuck with me this far, you’re officially part of the VIP club (no membership card required, just a tolerance for sarcasm and the occasional cat photobomb).

So, grab a coffee, settle in, and let’s make this next chapter the most chaotic, hilarious, and gloriously unfiltered one yet.

P.S. Tell me in the comments—what have you been up to? And if it involves acquiring more cats, please know I am fully supportive.

A Cat Cafe on Newcastle's Famous Quayside - CatPawCino

Friday, May 13, 2016

Ever since I heard about CatPawCino opening on Newcastle's Famous Quayside I've wanted to visit so when Abigail and my lovely friend Harriets birthdays coincided with only 2 days between them a visit to CatPawCino seemed like the most amazing birthday experience and you know how I prefer an experience to a thing!

CatPawCino is located right within the heart of the quayside, easily accessible by foot, public transport or car they have a standard £5 admission charge for an hour spent within the cafe although that does include a soft drink, tea or coffee and yummy cake.  I decided since we were celebrating we would instead go for the £12 per person afternoon tea which also includes the admission charge.  We were also told that although it's only an hour of time that they don't mind if you stay longer if it's quieter which it was last night although I imagine weekends are slightly crazy and booking in advance is recommended for weekends and holidays.

I really must say though that CatPawCino isn't about the yummy food it serves, it's not about the beverages, it's about the cats that you get to spend time with, there's just nothing like it, I don't think I can actually find the words to describe the joy it gave me to be in an environment where animals and humans are just peacefully co-existing, the cats are total poppets, you're not allowed to pick them up which means they come to you, you can of course go and stroke them and they're all just chilling out around the coffee house, on book shelves, on giant cat gyms, on shelves on walls and on chairs, you very much feel that this is the cats domain and you are merely honoured guests.

They ask that you don't use flash to take photos but there's really no need as the garden themed room is so bright and airy that you almost feel you are outdoors, other than that you can snap away, you can practice your cat themed photography, something which I of course embraced, in truth I could happily go back once a week just to photograph the pretty felines.

There's not much more to say really as it's so magical that you really do just have to go and experience it, oh and make sure you have a bowl tea, completely different and quite delicious.  So let me just end with a flurry of photographs dedicated to the purring little ones who made yesterday quite special for my daughter and beloved friend.

Happy New Year

Thursday, January 01, 2009

it's 2009 and I am so excited for the new year, 2008 was such a brilliant year I can't think of any reason that 2009 won't be even better!

As it is the new year I thought I would post a few more personal photos from the festive period, I'm on holiday until 12th of January though I am endeavouring to answer emails so bear with me and if it's urgent call me on my mobile! If you are a bride wanting to fix up a meeting for your upcoming 2009 or 2010 wedding please call me as I am still available on a limited basis for those meetings, I've already received a deluge of new enquiries for this year and next year and hope to meet with each and everyone of you. Can I just ask though that if you are having a prime 2009 date you hurry because I am more than half full for the year and I wouldn't want to miss out on your fabulous wedding would I? call me on the numbers above or click through to my website.

So back to those family photos.

On Boxing day Paul got to grips with Guitar Hero Legends of Rock. As you can see from this series of photographs he's already got the rock attitude!

Thankfully the Rock legend beard has now gone!

Abigail had a touch of the Hannah Montanas during the break, she might even be a rockstar, LOL

I rather think she looks better as a brunette though

and Looby continued, well just being Looby really!

Our cute foster kitten Sally continues to thrive and we'll be so sad when she finally leaves to go to her new home on Saturday

Look who I found hiding behind the livingroom door

It's Pyracantha our youngest cat, she's really still a kitten.
Paul was looking good on new years last night, we went to the Corner House for a couple of drinks and then we came home and enjoyed New years with just the two of us.

Today I made us a splendid lunch and we're just chilling until all the kids return from their grandparents. It's going to be nice to have everyone at home over the weekend and hopefully I'll get the camera well and truly used again, have to make the most of it before everyone goes back to school.

Just a couple of Random Photographs...

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

I decided that yesterday I would restrict myself to only my 50mm f1.8 lens should I feel the need to pick up my camera.

Well I couldn't get through the whole day without one or two shots, the first was part of a Photo Scavanger Hunt set by a fellow photographer of large organisation that I belong to, I didn't manage 3 or round but I did get Blue :-

Then there was this one of Abigail, always eager to smile for the camera,

Then last night I managed to catch Iain in the livingroom (note our livingroom at night has the worst light ever)

Lastly, just standing by the lamp I managed to get an up to date photo of little Pumpkin who is now a boy again, we've got his sex wrong so many times it's hilarious!!

Happy Tuesday everyone :)

A couple of kitten photographs

Wednesday, January 09, 2008

I thought since they're ll set to depart for their new families over the next week or so that I would share a couple more photos, so this is the kitten we call pumpkin
and this is the kitten we call Casserole, one of them is due to stay and one of them is due to go, we don't mind at all though, we've given them love and care and cuddles and playtime for the last 9 weeks and now it's that time, yes we'll be sad but for the next month atleast we'll still have 3 kittens and then by the middle of next month we'll be left with one kitten from Poppys litter and one from Elphabas and we'll all live in Cat heaven!! :D

Kate Bush

Tuesday, October 02, 2007

Helen on my forum was asking how our kitten was, if you haven't heard the story, a couple of months ago my husband (whilst he still worked for Royal Mail) was on his postal round and heard mewing from a nearby bush, anyway it was a teeny kitten who must have only been a couple of months old, well we nurtured her and loved her and gave her home (well as we have 2 other cats another didn't make too much difference) and this was her last week caught midway up the fence-post off on one of her adventures!! She really is the cutest kitty on the block!!

Meet Fiyero

Sunday, March 25, 2007

So as you may have gathered we have a puppy! LOL

He's called Fiyero and he's a six week old lakeland cross fell terrier, he's super cute and just a little bit teeny and he's fitting right in! The cats are not really sure what to make of him and he's actually giving poor Elphie a bit of a run for her money. We bought the cats red diamond studded collars today but I don't think we managed to persuade them that having Fiyero is a good thing just yet although they did appreciate the puppy food satchet and goats milk, you would think we didn't give them their own specialist food LOL!

The kids adore the new arrival, especially Looby who has wanted a doggy since the first time she ever saw one i think.

We're happy, puppy is happy, Kitties are sort of happy, kids are happy Happy Days!
