Life, chaos, and cats—with a side of accidental internet success. I’m Mandy: midlife, single forever, and somehow making a living sharing honest stories, product reviews, and the occasional existential crisis. Expect travel adventures, neurodivergent-friendly finds, and daily life with five rescue cats. It’s a bit messy, a bit magical, and always real.
With my mother at the moment, I can't really go into the details but since I have started therapy it's getting increasingly more difficult for me hold back when I speak to her, she's done so much damage. I wouldn't have half the battle scars that I carry if it weren't for her.
Some random thought :-
I may blog later if I can calm myself down a little.
I really hope that my children never feel this way towards me.
Therapy has made me see clearly for the first time ever.
Just because your job is creative and mostly online doesn't mean it's not real.
Just because I don't work in a bank anymore doesn't make me a failure.
I really hated working in the bank, I used to cry every night for probably 3 of the 6 years.
I thank God every day for my wonderful hubby (and I'm not even that religious)
Because of my hubby I can atlast stand up to my mother, together we are an unbeatable army.

I am strong and I will get through this.

To the West Wing last night, surely a tribute to the marvellous actors and actresses who have kept us on the edge of our faux political seats for the last 6 years. I'm truly going to miss this show, it started in 2000 over here just after Hubby and I married and I guess that this programme has been with us every step of the way, it was pretty much a constant for half the year every year and in our household it will be sorely missed as will the wonderful John Spencer who sadly passed away before the series ended.
In Lost last night, something finally happened (shocker) we actually got to meet one of "The Others" and Jack decided he was going to build himself an army, blimey it's about time they did that (NOT) like they're ever goig to beat them, they do have the paranormal on their side after all, could it be infact that "The others" are actually the people who died on the island? Who ever they are it seems like there are quite a few of them but then we knew that already, after all if you are going to keep a series on a small island going for 5 years then you are going to need plenty of spare characters just waiting in the wings, or in the case of Lost in small hatches at various points around the island.
Big Brother continues to amaze with the whole "House next Door" fiasco, genius or just going too far, I haven't figured that one out yet. What I do know is that with each passing series there seem to be more people going into the house than there are leaving it, perhaps one day the first one to actually be evicted will be the winner and the rest who are left will be left to malinger for entertainment eternity!
So all that TV talk can only mean 1 thing, Yes I have absolutely nothing goig on in my life right now! LOL
Oh 1 small point, it's the Craft Kingdoms cyber crop on Saturday to raise hopefully tons of money for breast cancer research and of course we have some great prizes including a whole set of Prima papers donated by HappyScrapper and a £100 voucher for Ellison designs.
We don't even mind if you aren't in the uk, Crafters all over the world, come join in, with quizzes, classes and almighty challenges, we'd really love it if you did!

Shut your eyes and ignore if you don't want to read about the penultimate episode of Dr Who series 2. There's going to be Spoilers......
So last night was just the best ever Dr Who, David Tennant was Scrummy as per usual and Billie Piper was all soft glow, seeing as she says she dies in this one, she didn't die at all last night so I'm guessing that she may well pop her clogs next week instead.
What we did have though was the biggest shock of the series in the shape of a Void Ship, a ship which in reality doesn't exist, it's like a ship which rides the plains of hell, or purgetry waiting for a window to come into a world of reality.
So I don't really want to give too much away but lets just say next weeks fight between the Cyber-men and the ..........DALEKS is going to be fan-blinkin-tastic and I also suspect that we may see a resurgence of Captn Jack (woohooo) as the episode is set in Torchwood and thats what his series is going to be called. I'm also hoping that Torchwood will just carry on from Dr Who until series 3 returns next year, although no doubt we'll have a Christmas episode, after all it was the biggest ratings pull of last year so I think they'll be wanting to cash in on that and actually I think that Dr Who continues to grow in immense popularity.
I remember seeing an interveiw with Russell T Davies (who's previous work I have loved) and he said that if they could get women to enjoy Dr Who then he would have done his job, well he's got me hooked I can tell you, for 45 mins last night I put the laptop down and I sat on the edge of my seat, I'm practically breathless waiting for next weeks finale.
