Time to Fall In Love With Jord Wooden Watches

I'm going to make a sweeping statement and I apologise in advance for any offence but I think people who don't wear watches are weird!  I get that they don't want to be tied to the constraints of time and space and heck, I can even get on board with that but we also know that even The Doctor himself wears a nifty timepiece about his person.

I have to admit that I don't wear jewellery or at least I seldom wear jewellery, it's not that I don't want to and I know I could go and buy myself cheap costume jewellery but the truth is, I think jewellery is a gift which should be given.  I do wear an Apple Watch but that's because I like being connected and I run a business which requires that.  You can't however, wear an Apple watch with a ballgown, I know this because I go to the Holly Ball at As You Like It every Boxing Day and I was going to wear my watch last year but an Apple Watch does not go!

This year, when I hope you'll forgive me if I wear the same dress again (I've only worn it once) I'm going to have the perfect accent to this gorgeous green ballgown because the lovely people at Jord have sent me the most beautiful wooden timepiece which is befitting of any occasion with any outfit.

When you receive a Jord Watch like the Frankie which I selected, it's not just a watch, it's an experience from the moment it arrives in its beautiful wooden box, opening it is like magic, the beautiful wooden timepiece sits on its very own little hessian cushion just begging to be taken out and put on your wrist.

I love wearing wood because it feels like I'm wearing something living and breathing, a ticking watch is like a heartbeat and if you lift this watch to your ear, it's really there, tick, tock, tick, tock...

The gift of time is a wonderful thing and maybe this watch is a reminder of just how precious time really is, it's a gift to myself and every time I look at it I'll remember just how amazing time is, we cannot capture time and yet we can be aware of it, we can try to understand it and yet it's incomprehensible.

You dear reader, you deserve this watch in as much as someone you love deserves it too so this Christmas treat a friend or your love to something truly wonderful, something which feels organic, something which feels warm and friendly, something which will make you smile every time you listen to its heart beating, reminding you that you have captured time on your wrist, at least for a little while.

I received this watch from Jord in exchange for writing this article but the views and stories are my own and at the Holly Ball this year I shall be wearing my Jord Wooden Watch with style!
