Holed Up

No weddings this weekend so hubby and I are holed up at the Gisborough Hall Hotel which is lovely though terrifyingly expensive, I nearly passed out when I discovered that it was £7.50 for one glass of wine, we hastily retreated to the nearest supermarket and bought some nice bottles to have in their room, now I must stress that you do get a complimentary corkscrew so we're obviously not the first couple to faint at the drinks prices!! To be honest the food isn't horribly expensive just the alcohol, aah well, not to worry! One thing I must say about the Gisborough Hall Hotel is that it would be the most fabulous place to have a wedding.

So no pics yet as I can't honestly be bothered to connect the lead from my camera to my laptop, I might share some tommorrow night!!I could have fun with Paul if we were trapped inside a small cupboard together!!

Toodlepip it's face-mask time!

Lesleys Family Portrait Photoshoot in Jesmond Dene

I met up with Lesley and her family down in Jesmond Dene on Sunday afternoon.

Lesleys son Ewan is off to Uni and they wanted to get some senior portraits of him and ones with the family to mark this important lifestage and of course the fact they'll miss him like mad when he goes to Uni.

Ewan of course is looking forward to every single moment of this next exciting stage in his life!

Ewans grandparents have been married 59 years although they don't look old enough!

Lesley and her hubby.

The whole family together.

Lesley thanks so much for sharing Sunday afternoon with me, I had lots of fun. If you want to book your family portrait session then please click through to my website or call me on 07918 121838, can I ask that you get your shoot scheduled as I'm now booking for mid September if you want a weekday and early October if you require a weekend shoot.

Louise and Craig - The full story

So I know you've been waiting to find out more about Louise and Craigs wedding at the Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club, well you're in luck because here are some favourite images from Saturdays petite wedding! I was there for 4 hours and I certainly put those 4 hours to good use covering the important things like getting ready through to the sitting down of the meal.

I loved the colour of the bouquet, the whole wedding had this pink theme running through it.

Some fabulous and funkadelic shoes which sadly I heard hurt the feet a little!! LOL

Just ready and waiting to get married!

The ring shot, it's been nearly a year between ring shots because I haven't had a macro lens since last summer but I just bought a great fab new one so expect some creative ring shots over the coming months!

Another fantabulous cake!

Two gorgeous flower girls who were so shy when I first met them but giggly and girly by the time I left.

I couldn't of course leave this blog post without posting another photograph of the happy couple.

Louise and Craig thank you so much for letting me share in your day end enjoy your bathroom redecoration!! LOL

Emma and Mark got Married at Headlam Hall

Headlam Hall is seriously one of my most favourite places to shoot, it's gorgeous, one of the most gorgeous places I know of, if you're planning your wedding you really couldn't pick a more fabulous place with the nicest most attentive staff I've encountered for a while, Martin the manager looks after the brides with the ultimate care and attention and helps make sure that the day goes by without the teeniest hitch.

So I have atleast 60 favourites from this small wedding I shot there yesterday and I really didn't want to share just the couple shots as I have been doing of late, I thought I might share some of the earlier parts of the day and highlights so here you go :-

Emma's gown was designed by Benjamin Jacobs and so completely gorgeous it just about made me gasp.

a helping hand from mum to do up all the delicate buttoning on the back of the dress.

sharing a moment of delight with mum

Isn't she gorgeous

to compliment such an amazing dress Emmas delectable taste chose a simply rose posy to carry down the isle

Mark, the dashing groom getting a helping hand from his son to pop that pesky buttonhole on.

A relaxed portrait.

Mark watches his beautiful bride make the journey down the isle with her dad.

After some short formal groups I escorted the couple away for their bride and groom alone time and rain was threatening heavily as you can see from this incredibly moody shot, let me tell you that this size does this photograph no justice, try it on a 4 ft canvas and take a second look, I can tell you it's awesome.

So then it did actually rain quite heavily and I shot the rest of the couples session literally inside a tall hedgerow and of course being the professional I am I don't get fazed by rain, I think these hedge photos turned out awesome.

It may have been raining but the light was scrummy, I had an umbrella over my camera as the couple stood inside the small covered hedgerow, is this photograph the most romantic you've ever seen?
Finally it stopped raining so we made it back to the reception and look at what awaited us

The most amazing homemade cake I've ever seen, Emmas mum was responsible for this wonder!

Finally I'll end on this one, this was not posed, I simply captured this moment as Emma and Mark were waiting to welcomed in to the wedding breakfast by all of their guests.

Emma and Mark, I hope you love these as much as I do, thanks so much for letting me be a part of your day.

Steven and Dees Wedding - The Assembly Rooms and Newcastle Quayside

You may remember Steven and Dee from their magical E-Shoot back in May, well Saturdays wedding was no less spectacular and yes those were Dee's wedding shoes in yesterdays post so well done to all of those who guessed correctly!

Wanna see some photos from Dee and Stevens wedding?

The Handsome Groom

and the beautiful bride

The wedding was really emotional and I cried behind my camera when Dee burst into tears, she was just so happy to be marrying her soulmate.

No one who believes in Love like I do could can fail to see the beauty of this moment of absolute and complete true love.

We went off to the Quayside afterwards to get some great couple shots and though we had been scheduled to go on the Millenium bridge we discovered that there was a boat race and the bridge was open.

This kind of thing doesn't happen very often and created an amazing photograph don't you think?

These two are soul-mates and it makes me happy :-)

One of my favourite moments from the entire day, beautiful?

They didn't take too much encouragement to kiss!

Steven and Dee, thank you so much for letting me share in your day and your wedding at the Assembly Rooms, thanks for the sensational meal and making my job so easy, enjoy your honeymoon :-D

My Holidays - The Highlights

Finally I'm getting around to blogging my highlights of my week of holidays! I can't tell you how much fun we had, it was quite simply one of our best holidays ever!!

I wanted to share some photos out of the 200 I ended up with and please if you want to see more click on any of the ones I've shared and there are the full 2o0 on Faceboook!!

Here's just a few special moments -

The girls taken using only candle-light in a very dark Mexican restaurant in Derby, we had a fabulous meal on that first night!

Matlock Bath was our destination this time last Sunday, I love this gorgeous village in Derbyshire and we even got Paul to go on the cable cars!!

Abigail also had her facepainted as an island which has got to be the most bizarre face painting ever!!

The very first photograph I took in central London just as we had got off the tube at Picadilly

Trafalgar Square

Admiralty Arch and the infamous black cab! We did get a black cab on the night we had been to the theatre and couldn't beleive how expensive it is!!

We sailed up the Thames on the Thames Clipper and I would reccomend this as a great way to see London from the river, it only cost a tenner for all four of us because we had tube tickets.

Tower bridge!

The girls loved Covent Garden, particularly the street performers, I love Covent Garden, Paul bought me a bracelet which is made from a silver art deco dessert spoon!!

Rather him than me!!

One of the highlights of seeing London with the girls was their awe at going to see where the queen lives, we spent so much money in the Buckingham palace shop though!!

Can you guess what we did next?

Seriously the most fabulous moment, nearly of my entire life!!

taken by me in the theatre!!
Wicked was amazing, at the end I cried my eyes out because I was so happy to be finally sitting there seeing it live on stage, I got the CD in 2004 and it's taken me 4 years to get to see this show, this wonderful story of the girl who refuse to take second best, the musical which changed my life and helped me who I am today. I did buy a T-shirt, a copy of the Grimmerie, a new CD because mine was scratched and some green monkeys and I would go back to see it again tommorrow. We got £60 tickets for £43 each from the Leicester Square half price ticket booth and we had great seats in the stalls, an experience which was worth every single penny!!

The next day we did the obligatory bus tour!

Gotta love Big Ben with some flare!!

Love this one!

and this one!!

Looby being kissed to death by daddy!!

and then she got her revenge

What an amazing holiday, can't wait for the next one!!
